A cute mystery animal found huddling near a dumpster has rescuers scratching their heads in Dallas, Texas. Earlier this week, officers from the Dallas Police Department found the sweet little puppy eating out of a dumpster and stranded all alone. However, upon closer inspection, the adorable puppy looked an awful lot like a baby fox or coyote, leaving rescuers with the question: Just what kind of animal is it, exactly?
The mystery pup was brought to Dallas Animal Services, where several people commented that the animal looked like a baby coyote! There’s also been some debate over whether the puppy is an offspring of a coyote and a domestic dog. To know for sure, a DNA test is being conducted to determine the puppy's genetic makeup. The puppy's DNA test results will be available in ten to fourteen days.
Meanwhile, the puppy, now named Toast, is trending in Dallas and is currently dubbed Dallas' most popular puppy, according to WFAA.
However, after the DNA test results, Toast might be the most popular dog or coyote in Dallas.
