An 85-year-old Florida woman was tragically killed by a 10-foot-long alligator that tried to snatch her dog. In terrifying footage obtained by Inside Edition, the elderly woman, identified as Gloria Serge, is seen walking her dog along a lake outside Spanish Lakes Fairways, a retirement community in St. Lucie County, Florida.
The 700-pound alligator is seen scrambling out of the water and attempting to snatch the dog but failed. The vicious reptile then dragged the old woman to her death as she desperately tries to protect her dog.
A neighbor who witnessed the horrific incident called 911 while attempting to save Serge. However, the neighbor told Inside Edition that there is no way she could have gotten to Serge sooner.
Alligator trappers soon arrived and captured the predator. However, “it was definitely a fight,” said alligator trapper Robert Lilly.
