How Many Pets (Dogs/Cats) Can You Own in Nevada?

Like many other states, Nevada has no statewide law limiting the number of pets households can have. Instead, each municipality within the Silver State is tasked with enacting its own pet ownership laws. Consequently, the maximum number of dogs and cats allowed per household in Nevada may vary from city to city. Therefore, how many pets you can own in Nevada depends on where you live and the pet ownership laws there.

Aside from local laws, there are HOA laws, which often override local laws. If your city allows 4 pets per household, for example, your HOA may have their own limit. So it is important to check with your HOA before acquiring any pets. If you reside in a HOA community within Nevada, that is. If you don't, you can determine how many pets are allowed per household in your locality by giving your local animal control office a friendly call. In the meantime, check out the pet limit laws in these ten Nevada municipalities.
