In Oklahoma City, you can have 4 cats or 4 dogs. If you love both animals, you can keep them in any combination not exceeding 4 in total. Per the city's municipal code, kittens and puppies under 6 months of age aren't subject to this restriction. To keep more than 4 dogs or 4 cats, or dogs and cats totaling more than 4 in Oklahoma City, you need to obtain a kennel license. There is a rabies vaccination requirement for all dogs and cats in the city.
2. Tulsa, OK
In Tulsa, OK, each household is limited to 5 dogs or 5 cats or any combination of both not exceeding a total of 5. Dogs and cats under the age of 4 months are not subject to these regulations, per the city code. A Hobbyist Exemption permit is required to own more than 5 pets in the city of Tulsa. Every dog and cat over 4 months of age in Tulsa must be vaccinated and registered with the Director of Finance.
3. Norman, OK
The city of Norman, OK's municipal code allows you to have a maximum of 4 dogs and 6 cats over six months of age if all of the animals are spayed or neutered. Households with unsterilized animals are limited to 2 dogs and/or 3 cats over six months of age. To exceed these limits, you need to apply for and obtain a $50 private kennel license. The annual renewal fee for the license is $25. Every dog and cat over 4 months old within the city of Norman is required to be vaccinated against rabies.
4. Broken Arrow, OK
The city of Broken Arrow's animal ordinances allow no more than 4 domestic animals per household without a permit. However, this restriction does not apply to property zoned agricultural (A-1). To have 5 or more pets in Broken Arrow, OK, you need a hobbyist exemption permit, the issuance of which is subject to certain requirements. An annual kennel license is required to own 8 or more dogs or cats, or any combination thereof, within the city. The code makes it unlawful for pet owners to fail to prevent their animals (except cats) from running at large within the city. Moore has a pooper scooper law requiring all pet owners to clean up after their pets in public places.
8. Midwest City, OK
A total of 4 domestic animals, including dogs and cats, are allowed per residence in Midwest City, OK. This restriction does not apply to hamsters, chinchillas, or guineas, which may be kept in addition to the maximum number of animals allowed per household.
