A woman in Florida returned her adorable cat to the Humane Society of Broward County late last month because the feline was too affectionate, according to reports.
A video of the cat named Jerry, who was surrendered on Dec. 22, 2022, was posted by the society on TikTok with a caption that reads, “Too affectionate!” That's the reason why four-old Jerry's owner surrendered him.

According to the Humane Society, sweet Jerry loves rubbing up against his owner, who finds it too much annoying. Additionally, Jerry loves being petted and would wait at the door for his owner. However, Jerry's owner said the cat annoyed her with how sweet and affectionate he is.
Jerry's sad video swiftly went viral on the video-sharing platform and had 30,000 comments as of Sunday evening. It wasn't long before four families showed up at the Fort Lauderdale shelter, asking to meet the black and white domestic short-haired cat.
According to a representative from the society, Jerry's new owner was the first to show up at the shelter the next day after seeing the cat's video on TikTok. A short while later, the society posted another video, updating everyone who reached out from across the country, that Jerry has found a loving forever home where he can be as affectionate as he wants.
Jerry's story is similar to the one of a black cat who found a forever after being surrendered by her owner because she wanted to cuddle with him at night. Earlier last month, a senior dog was returned to Florida Rescue because she wanted to sleep in bed with her owners.
