In the state of Florida, it is required by law that all dogs, cats, and ferrets four months of age or older be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. The proof of rabies vaccination can then be used to obtain a pet license in Florida.
If you are looking for a low-cost vaccine for your dog or cat, the Humane Society of North Central Florida (HSNCF) has you covered. HSNCF publicly hosts low-cost, walk-in vaccine and wellness clinics every week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The wellness clinic offers basic veterinary care services, including heartworm and feline combination tests, preventative medication, routine vaccines, and microchipping.
It only takes a moment for your cat or dog to wander off. In this case, a microchip makes it easy for animal shelters to identify you as the pet's owner should your pet find itself at one. Moreover, microchips have helped millions of lost pets reunite with their loving owners quickly and safely.
The clinic opens from 10 am to 4 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It opens every Wednesday by appointment from 10 am until 12 pm or WALK-IN from 1 pm to 4 pm.
HSNCF Pet Vaccination Cost
In addition to an exam fee, the cost of vaccines for a dog or cat is $25. For more information, you can send an inquiry email to wellness@humanesocietyncfl.org or contact 352.373.5855 to schedule an appointment on a Wednesday. If your pet’s vaccination history is available, you are asked to bring it along. However, you should note that HSNCF reserves the right to turn away pet owners once they have reached their daily capacity for care.
