When a celebrity has a soft spot for pets, he or she becomes more likable. Virtually all American celebrities have a brood of pets at home, and I have compiled a list of those who have chosen cats as companions. If you are a cat person like these celebrities, you would have a lot to talk about if you ever met them.
1. Taylor Swift
Singer Taylor Alison Swift is one of the most notable celebrity cat lovers in the United States. The Love Story singer currently has three feline companions. Swift's cats are virtually as popular as she is. Her cats' names are Meredith Grey, a Scottish fold cat, Olivia Benson, also a Scottish fold cat, and Benjamin Button, a Ragdoll kitten. The number one influence in Taylor Swift's life is her cats, which she loves more than music. During an interview with Time Magazine, Swift said she is so much obsessed with her cats that she had to play a role in the movie called "Cats." Moreover, Swift explained to Time how her beloved felines are a "joy to live with."
2. Machine Gun Kelly
American rapper and actor Machine Gun Kelly is a bona fide cat lover. In February 2022, the '9 Lives' singer took to social media to announce that he and Megan Fox had welcomed a new family member, a Bengal cat named Whiskey. The rapper, whose real name is Colson Baker, shared nice photos in which he and Fox are seen cuddling up with Whiskey in outfits inspired by the pet's fur.

In December 2021, singer Jennifer Lopez introduced her new pet cat named Hendrix to her followers on social media. The two-time Grammy nominee revealed Hendrix, a cute Devon Rex kitten while giving a glimpse at her beautiful Christmas decorations. The Devon Rex cat breed is known for its large ears, short hair, slender body, and wavy coat.
4. Mark Ruffalo
Unlike his fellow Avenger Captain America, who is a notable dog lover, actor Mark Alan Ruffalo proudly loves kitties. In fact, his Instagram account says it all. Over the years, the proud cat lover and father to three children had shared various photos of his five feline friends Biscotti, Magnus, Hansel, Felix, and Inky.
5. Miley Cyrus
Singer Miley Cyrus is a renowned cat lover. In addition to owning four adorable cats, the 'Midnight Sky' singer has other pets including dogs, a fish, and a pig. Cyrus' cats' names are Shanti, LiLo, Harlem, and Kiki. Cyrus constantly shares snapshots of her beloved pets on her Instagram account. One of her cats, Shanti, even has her own Instagram account with more than 70k followers.
6. Hilaria Baldwin
Actor Alec Baldwin's wife, Hilaria Baldwin, a yoga instructor, is a proud mom to three cats and two dogs. Her most recent feline addition to their family is a Bengal cat named Camila Valenciana Azul, who is siblings with the other two cats, Emilio and Cayetana. In 2021, Hilaria announced that Emilio had gone missing but later said she found the feline, according to TMZ.
7. Robert Downey Jr.
Like his fellow avenger Mark Ruffalo, Robert Downey Jr. is an avid cat lover. After saving the world by defeating Thanos, the Iron Man likes to go home, change back into Robert Downey Jr., and cuddle up next to his two furry friends, Montgomery and Dartanian. During an interview with Men’s Fitness, Downey said he would protect his cats with his life. In addition, he called the two adorable cats "sweet little feline souls," and said he would kill for them.
8. Drew Barrymore
Actress Drew Barrymore is a cat lover and proud owner of three adorable female cats named Lucky, Peach, and Fern. In 2018, Barrymore named herself the "crazy cat lady" after she and her daughters went to rescue a cat and came home with three kittens in need. The breed of her cats is Domestic shorthair.
9. Martha Stewart
American retail businesswoman Martha Stewart loves pets a lot. In April 2022, Stewart shared the sad news of her cat, Princess Peony, killed by her four dogs. In October 2022, Stewart introduced two new Bengal cats to her Instagram followers, revealing one of the cats' names as Kipling.
10. Mayim Bialik
Actress Mayim Bialik is an avid cat lover who currently owns three rescue cats named Addie, Frances, and Nermal. Bialik loves cats so much that she even played the role of a cat cafe owner in the TV sitcom "Call Me Kat." During a 2020 interview with Today, Bialik said her cats had seen her through enormous life changes including divorce. In addition, Bialik said her cats comforted her when she cried. Furthermore, Bialik said her cats witnessed the birth of her second son and said the felines have the secrets of her soul.
