Sick Puppy Makes Full Recovery After Being Found Abandoned On Boston Street

A sick Chihuahua mix puppy who was found abandoned on a cold street in Boston, Massachusetts, has fully healed and is now ready for adoption. The six-week-old puppy, who was named Tuesday, was found in East Boston with canine parvovirus, a contagious virus mainly affecting dogs. The sick canine was apparently left to die on the cold streets of Boston.

Fortunately, on November 28, The canine was spotted by Boston Animal Control officers who brought him in. The officers subsequently reached out to MSPCA for help after noticing signs of parvovirus. According to the American Kennel Club, there is no cure for parvovirus. And infected dogs will be offered supportive care over the course of the disease. In addition, vets will make sure that the infected dog gets adequate nutrition. The survival rate of an infected canine treated by a vet is 68 to 92%. Most dogs make a full recovery if they survive the first three-to-four days, according to the AKC.


Tuesday miraculously survived after receiving the best possible care! The rescue took to Twitter on Dec 6, 2022, to announce that Tuesday was discharged from the hospital and sent to a foster home to fully recover.



After receiving treatments for almost a month, handsome Tuesday is ready to find his family in time for the holidays. Many people have already applied to adopt Tuesday and MSPCA is busy going through the application to find the best fit for the little fella as quickly as possible.

Canine parvovirus is a potentially deadly illness that is preventable. According to the AKC. All dogs, irrespective of age, should take their parvo vaccines. And you shouldn't allow unvaccinated dogs to come in contact with your vaccinated dog. This requires you to be careful when socializing your dog.
